EC200 Straightening Hydraulic Presses
Standard Industrial Company was approached by a customer in the steel processing industry to design and manufacture a straightening press. They were using subcontractors to repair damaged or deformed raw materials, which was expensive and time consuming. We were able to provide them with a solution that gave them full control over the process at a cost that would deliver a rapid return on investment.
Our engineering team worked closely with the customer to determine performance needs for the new equipment and prepared full schematics using AutoCAD. The design, prepared in accordance with ANSI B11.2 safety standards for hydraulic power presses, specified the use of only standard, readily available components for the electrics and hydraulics. We utilized a variety of metal forming techniques, including CNC machining and welding, to produce the heavy duty steel components. Quality was evaluated at every step of the fabrication and assembly processes to ensure that the specifications were met. Full operational testing before delivery ensured all operating parameters were within specification.
This 12' high press features a 34" x 48" bed sitting at a 38" height. It offers a fully adjustable, 18" ram that operates at speeds of up to 63 ipm on approach, 23 ipm on press, and 78 ipm on return. It operates at up to 15 hp to provide 200 ton forming and 130 ton punching capacity. It also incorporates special, slow-speed controls to accommodate the straightening operations for which it was intended.
Within a 16 week turnaround, we delivered two 100% American made, precision pieces of equipment that will provide the customer with a lifetime of dependability and accuracy.
